The WBA has sponsored teams in the local Colt League for over 20 years. The Colt League is for ages 15 –17. The league is for any person, age eligible, who just wants to play baseball in the summer. Therefore, the league’s philosophy is to have zero cuts – as long as the number of participants allows the league that flexibility. You don’t have to have played High School Baseball to participate. Games are scheduled only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so as not to interfere with High School Summer programs. Summer Northern Lights Colt Baseball 2008 Season Description Colt House League registration will open March 1 at www.kwba.org Eligiblity: must reside in the New Trier School District, and be of age 15, 16, or 17. Players who turn 17 before May 15 are not allowed to pitch. Coaches: Volunteers. We are in need of coaches. The time commitment is minimal. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your son and help volunteer for a great program. Umpires: Two (2) per game Schedule: 16-18 league games plus playoffs. Games on weekends during June and July; some Friday night games; playoffs at season’s end Travel Info: Nearby suburbs – Northbrook, Glenview, Lincolnwood, & Deerfield Fees: $230 per player Registration: go to www.kwba.org (League Info/Summer Baseball) Player Evaluation: Held at Duke Childs Field (Freshman Field on Willow Road) on Sunday May 18th at 10:00am.
