Pinto Summer House league 2010

Registration

The Pinto Summer House League for 2010 is an Instructional League for those Pinto League players (spring grade 2nd or 3rd) who played in the Pinto House League in the Spring 2010 season. Six or eight teams are planned with 12/13 players per team, so registration will be limited to the first 78 (if six teams) or 104 (if 8 teams) players who register. Register early to guarantee a roster spot. Registration closes on June 15th. The cost will be $210 per player which includes a Jersey and Hat.

If the player you wish to register is not registered for the Spring 2010 House League, you must contact Bill Pritz at bpritz@logility.com to be added to a waiting list. Please see www.wilmettebaseball.org for more information under Leagues.

Season: June 21st - July 23rd

The season starts the week of June 21st and runs until July 23rd.  There will be eight games (weekday games from 5:30 - 7:30 pm and Saturday games at various times) at Thornwood North. Saturday, July 24th will be used for makeups.

We will use the Buddy System to create the teams. This means that you can play with your buddies. If you would like to play with a buddy, a parent may submit a list of one to six buddies via email to Bill Pritz at bpritz@logility.com listing the players first and last name, grade, and school. If a parent is interested in coaching, list one or two coaches along with the players. Please only provide Buddy requests if you've confirmed it with your Buddy so names don't appear on more than one list. We will attempt to honor all buddy requests. If  requesting 5 or 6 buddies, there must be an adult agreeing to coach as part of the request.

There will be two/three coches per team. Please indicate coaching interest when registering.

Instruction

The goal of this program is help players improve their skill levels and learn the game of baseball in a friendly, enjoyable environment. Prior to each weekday game, there will be a 45 minute instructional session focused on hitting, throwing, fielding, and pitching skill development with three professional instructors (from Illinois Baseball Academy). The game that follows will combine both player and coach pitch to stimulate action in the field, so players can practice their skills. Teams will have have parent coaches who will participate in the instructional portion and take over running the team for the game. During the game, the instructors will continue to participate working with pitchers on the sidelines and players in the field. They will warmup the pitchers in preparation for game action. The instrutors will attempt to differentiate players by skill level and vary pitching and provide meaningful instruction to players of varying skill levels.

This will be a great opportunity for players to have fun learning and playing the game.
